This sago has not been moved and was a lush, bushy dark green when we purchased the home… until the termite tenting. House tenting covered this Sago and it quickly turned brown after removal. Honestly thought it was dead, but was hoping against hope it'd make a recovery while being afraid to touch it and make it worse. A yr later and it's sprouted! Idk if I should trim the top tan fronds or leave them since there's no other green still other than the middle stems of the fronds. Any tips or advice on how to make this have a healthy comeback? The eaves slightly cover it so that's It's only full sun half the day. I had never watered before tenting but started using the shower setting on over the whole cycad maybe once a month after it browned when it's been a bit more warm out.

Thank You for any help!!

  1. I unfortunately don’t have any advice, but more questions for anyone who’d know: do you think the treatment itself was what damaged the plant, or was it possibly the greenhouse effect from the tent?

  2. Trim off all the surrounding dead foliage and allowed it to deploy its new leaves.
Also read up on cycads, amazing ancient plants very much in decline globally. They have some amazing abilities. Well worth getting to know better
