This is my first paludarium, I used silicone and coco fiber to apply onto the spray foam. After it dried I went over it with a small vacuum to remove the excess. Not much is left on, was it something I did?
The most common problem is that the substrate isn’t dry enough. You want to work in small sections one by one (so the silicone doesn’t develop a film), and then press your very very dry, dusty substrate in there. Massage it in roughly to really mash it into the silicone.
You can go in and put new silicone on the bare spots and redo those parts. If your substrate isn’t dry enough, you can bake it in the oven.
