Whenever i see the bunnies munching my plants, I like to pretend it’s the native New England cottontail, at least. It makes me look a lot closer at each one, since I guess they’re nearly indistinguishable (visually) from the eastern cottontail.

They are so cute though. I’m hoping to plant natives specifically for them to munch, or just have enough of all of the plants that it doesn’t matter what they munch.

I like to chase the rabbits away and yell at them as if I’m actually going to do something about it. “You want some of this? You wanna go? Get out of here!” Lol
They’re getting far too cavalier smdh

These and our resident groundhog are why most of the natives are in pots and elevated onto a table in my backyard. 😅
Especially if I get something that is small and pretty much barely out of seedling stage, it goes up there until I’m sure it can handle some munching. I’m thinking of starting a bed just for the mammals so they can have cover and food, with a few animal-resistant plants in there for color.
