What’s wrong with that? Asking for a friend obviously

BKallDAY24
We planted it between ours and our neighbors house in the dark dingy alley. It’s wonderful.

So, this is an honest question, if mint is bad to plant in my garden because it speads and takes over like a wildfire. Can I plant it in my driveway as a covering? In the summer, when it dries a bit and run over it parking, will the neighborhood smell like mint? If so, Is this a good thing?

My in-laws planted some in my vegetable garden.
I didnt think much of it.
It wasn’t long before I was ripping it out by the handful trying to contain it.
Eventually I had to dig it out or it would have completely taken over.

Hahahaha, want to see the photos of the *4* mint varieties I planed right in ground last week? They’re doing great! Can’t wait to have mint *forever*!
Seriously tho, it’s not a big deal, mint is only invasive if you totally ignore it. If you even just cut it down when it’s a few years old will kill it pretty good.

Not me over here who can’t event get mint to grow. I tried seeds in pots indoors and outdoors and got a single sprout that promptly died.

I always find these posts so funny because I planted mint along my shed in very fertile soil and my thumb must be black because that shit died at winter and I never saw it again.
I’ve thrown my kids rotting pumpkins after Halloween on the same exact spot and I get pumpkins every spring. I’m both impressed and ashamed at my gardening skills.

True story, the neighbors dog peed on our mint every morning and it eventually died

On the bright side, minty fresh lawn smell.
Repulsive_Type_9565
I had in a pot for a few years. Pulling weeds today and I smell it, there it was. It’s in my beds now. Luckily weed fabric might keep it under control

We had mint around our trees growing up and it never spread. Must not have liked the desert
QweenOfTheCrops
I planted mint in my yard because I read that gophers would avoid it. Those bastards ate all of them within 2 weeks

Depending on where you live it’s not that bad at all to get rid of. Some alliums in my area are worse than Japanese knotweed.
The_Real_Flatmeat
I have a customer who’s planted it in the garden. Mowing his lawn ends up with a lovely minty fragrance 😆
