Performances by a variety of artists set for Sundays over the coming months – here’s the lineup

This summer, local residents can take in the beauty of a sprawling Georgetown garden maintained by volunteers while enjoying some tunes.

The Friends of the Old Seed House Garden are gearing up to present Music in the Garden, with several musical groups donating their time and abilities to bring the free performance series to life.

The outdoor shows for people of all ages will take place at the gazebo in the Dominion Seed House Garden, located at 135 Maple Ave., from 3 to 5 p.m. on select Sundays.

“We’re doing it to bring the community together,” said Diane Crawford, co-chair of Friends of the Old Seed House Garden. “To see people walking in with their lawn chairs, it makes us feel good.”

Here’s the full lineup:

June 22: Halton Hills Concert Band
July 6: Standard Time Jazz Band
July 20: The Band
August 3: Georgetown Transfer
August 17: Celtic Chords
August 31: Georgetown Folk Collective
September 14: Hillsview Seniors’ Band
September 28: Harp and friends with Pearl Schachter.

The Friends of the Old Seedhouse Garden introduced the free concerts last year and Crawford says they were well-received, with about 75 to 100 people attending each time. This year, she says they’re hoping to attract an even bigger crowd.

Those who attend are asked to bring a lawn chair.

This event is being supported with a grant from the Town of Halton Hills.
