I have a container that’s probably the same size and shape. It houses my curly haired tarantula, Miss Muffet. She doesn’t like water, except in her little dish. The substrate is dry, so a minor leak wouldn’t be a problem at all. Spiders are super low maintenance. So my suggestion is to repurpose your water landscape for something a little drier.

Alternately, leaks are repairable, no? Use the stuff they seal the edges with – aquarium stores should carry some.

I’ll take it. It’ll make for a great terrarium

You can reseal it. It sounds a lot harder than it actually is. I just did my first reseal and I was so stressed out over it. But, if I can do it, anyone can. And I did a 600L tank, too. I’m sure you can pull it off.

Definitely look into some reptiles, if it holds some moisture you could still have something humid I assume, like certain tree frogs or small lizards. I’m not sure about the top opening though so more research for sure. You definitely have options to still use the tank and it still has value, good luck.
