I’ve love string of pearls. This is my second one and I’m noticing very tiny soft flat leaves at the top can anyone tell me if this is normal or if my plant was planted with something else? Also, I noticed that these are a very dark green compared to my first batch of string pearls that were a light green are they supposed to be so dark in color?

It looks like something else is growing in there.

Looks like you have a hitchhiker lol. It looks like string of frogs but I am not sure. They look cute together though 😊

those are young hairy bittercress plants, they’re a common garden weed & were probably picked up somewhere in the plant supply chain. make sure to pull them out before they go into flower, the mature seed pods pop open if even gently disturbed & flick the seeds out which makes them hard to get rid of. bittercress is edible though (wild relative of cabbage), so you can make good use of them!!

From Home Depot? Got one this week and it has the same. Was so soggy I immediately repotted (after drying out roots) and removed the hitchhiker.

Some of my pearls are darker green and I’m concerned it’s because soil was so soggy and they’re rotting. Pretty sure HD was the culprit of the water and I was told they were there less than 24 hours when I bought mine so fingers crossed.

  6. That’s not string of pearls. Perhaps Bittercress, Cardamine hirsuta… easily removed.
