I've have this one for a couple weeks now. I give him a misting everyday right at the middle. (Trying to simulate the fog in their wild habitat). I know they eventually brown on the ends of the leaves but my guy is pretty young. Is the pink and browning normal and healthy or am I missing something. Soil is mostly pumice some lava rock and very little organic materials. I fertilized him twice with dilute liquid fert mix.

Thanks for the help! My Dorstenia gigas I aquired at the same time is doing great, even has some new growth!

Looks normal to me, I have a seedling around that size and the tips have also started to die back on mine. As long as it doesn’t move towards the middle faster than it grows you should be fine imo.

You should be watering thoroughly once a week in a summer if you’re mostly inorganic. They love water. The misting is a nice thing to do as a ritual with the plant so no need to stop, but won’t replace watering in any way.

I have mine sitting in a dish that always has a cm or two of water in it. They don’t like to dry out and want to stay in a warm environment.

They need little water but they need it constantly.
NEVER let the soil go completely dry.
    They will die.
