In the spring of 1967 Scott Makenzie’s song “If You’re Going to San Francisco’ beckoned the youth of America to take part in what became known as the Summer of Love.   But what sparked this massive gathering of young hippies in San Francisco, and what legacy did it leave behind. 

Nick Campion, author of The New Age in the Modern West and Associate Professor in Cosmology and Culture, Principal Lecturer in the Faculty of Humanities and the Performing Arts, University of Wales Trinity Saint David joins Suzanne Hill to explain what happened.
