That’s so exciting!! I planted 3 swamp milkweed and 4 butterfly milkweed so far this year.I’m hoping I get to see some next year!

Have you seen any/many butterflies? We’re in northern VA and it seems like butterflies of any kind are sparse this year. Usually at this point in the year we’re at least seeing quite a few swallowtails.

I’m so excited for you! My friend has several milkweeds growing…. I’m hoping we get some! I mow his lawn and I’m so very careful not to mow them down. I hope I can show him this post so that he know that we’re not the only owns who care and are tryin.
I remember seeing this beautiful ribbon of Monarch’s so gently floating up, down, side to side. Thousands of them. I’ve paid attention as to the time of year and looked and waited…. Nothing. I barely ever see any Monarch’s any more… So sad…
