Today I got this beautiful string of turtles at Walmart! I want to hang it in my bathroom about 4 feet away from an East facing window. Would this be enough natural light, or would a grow light be beneficial given the proximity to the window?
For reference, this photo was taken late in the day and will get more sunlight than you see in the photo.

I am still very much a beginner in terms of understanding light for plants, but what I have learned so far is that anything more than maybe 1 foot from the window is going to take a massive loss in the amount of light it gets. We see a room being lit up by the sun and think “oh, there’s light all over this room”, but our mindset for choosing where plants go should really be “**how much of the sky can this plant see**”. Your plant can see basically 0 sky from what I can tell, so it is currently in low indirect light.
Succulents and their full sun friends need to see ALL sky lol. I haven’t worked out the details for the other guys in the middle.
My string of turtles is directly next to a window that looks onto our covered porch, so it can’t see much sky, so it’s still definitely in indirect light, but it’s probably closer to medium. If you want him in this room, If I were you, I’d repot that guy into a hanging pot with a little more length and hang it from the ceiling to be partially in front of that window! You could also put a narrow shelf in front of the window (so you need some more plants to fill it up, obviously 😆)
I’d hang him in the window sill on a little hook. They love light right on top. As long as you don’t overwater, it, let it dry out a little bit, but don’t let them get completely dry, or it’s harder to get them to fill back out again. They like humidity as well. Good luck!! Beautiful plant!
