In this video, we walk you through a real-world drainage inspection and explain why proper grading is essential for your landscape. Not all lots drain the same—especially in areas with elevated streets or unique slopes.
Watch as we break down how water moves through this property, the grading challenges we’re facing, and the two main solutions we’re considering to prevent water buildup: cutting grade or installing a custom drainage system.
Don’t overlook the hidden foundation of great landscaping—proper drainage. 💧

uh the drainage inspection this is something that that you got to pay attention to a lot of these lots have very unique drainage um they’re not like your stereotypical lot that just drains to the front a lot of these will drain to a back right corner or the backyard because the street is so elevated so over here all this drain is just dropping down to this fence right here and then back here the grade comes back up into the common area so in order to kind of make up for that we’re either going to have to install some drainage here to help get the water to the back or this is going to have to get cut by I’m guessing it looks somewhere in the in the ballpark of like 4 inches
