βΊ ABOUT
In this video, I take you through the full process of transforming my completely empty new build garden into a detailed and lifelike 3D design.
The garden started as a plain patch of grass with no structure or personality, so I wanted to approach the design in a way that really helped me feel how the space could evolve. Rather than starting with traditional plan drawings, which can sometimes be hard to visualise, I took a series of photos of the garden and brought them into Photoshop. From there, using my graphics tablet to sketch directly over the images, creating a few loose concept ideas that allowed me to explore layout, scale, and atmosphere more intuitively.
Once I settled on a concept I felt excited about, I went outside to take proper measurements and surveyed the space to make sure everything would translate accurately into 3D. I then built a full model of the garden in SketchUp, incorporating all the key elements from my sketches and refining the layout in three dimensions. This helped me understand how different features would interact with the space in real terms, like seating areas, BBQ space, garden office, raised beds, planting areas, tree planting and lounge seating.
Finally, to breathe life into the model and really visualise the potential of the space, I imported the SketchUp file into Twinmotion. This allowed me to add realistic textures, lighting, plants, and even environmental details like weather and time of day. I finished the process by creating a photorealistic walkthrough of the final design, so you can get a real sense of how the space will look and feel when we build this design for real.

i’ve lived in this house for almost 3 years now with possibly the most boring garden on the planet so today we’re going to be taking the first step in trying to work out what to do with it and hopefully at the end we’ll have a full concept design that we can start building from now you might be wondering why has it taken me so long to start doing something with this garden well the simple answer is finances and I’ve been prioritizing other things instead but now I feel the time has come that we need to start doing something with the space since getting Domino as well we realized that we need something a bit more interesting and exciting for her because just a big patch of grass is simply too boring for a dog like her she needs to be sniffing plants and bushes and getting some sort of stimulation from the space and also I just think it’ll be a fun process and we’re going to try and do it as cost effectively as possible doing most of the work ourselves now the first thing that we need to do is actually work out what we want in the space and what things we want to prioritize so me and my girlfriend have sat down and discussed exactly what we want out of the space the first thing we want to include is an outdoor dining space and barbecue area as well as a separate lounge seating space we need a raised bed a herb garden planted beds with flowers and shrubs to break up the monotonous grass area ideally it would be nice to have a couple of trees if that’ll fit we also need to keep the existing shed for storage as well as the compost heap and ideally we want to leave space for a garden building that could be used as an office workshop gym or yoga studio and at the moment that is not a priority as it’ be a very costly exercise but we do want to leave the space for it in the design so that we can eventually put it in if we want to now quite often when people design their gardens they take the measurements and then draw it all on plan view but what I want to try and do is do it a bit differently and draw everything in 3D so that I can kind of get a feel of how it might look as I’m going through the design process and then once I’ve got a rough concept that I’m happy with then I’ll go and take the measurements and draw everything up accurately to see if it actually works but the first thing I’m going to do is take some photos of the garden and then actually overdraw them in Photoshop so now I’ve taken the photos outside i’ve loaded them into Photoshop and now using my drawing tablet I’m basically just going to draw over the photos and try and design as I [Music] go heat heat [Music] n heat heat [Music] n heat heat n [Music] hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey so at this point I’ve drawn up an initial design from two angles but now seeing it in person I’m not sure I’m convinced about having the raised beds so now I’m playing around trying to see what it might look like taking them out completely and moving the raised beds somewhere else [Music] so I’ve now drawn up two concepts one with raised planters one without but I’m not sure either quite work and I realized I’ve made a mistake and I forgot to include somewhere for the barbecue i do have an idea though so my plan is to keep the existing paving leading up to the shed move the shed but then put the barbecue at the end of this paving and I think it might work so I’ve been outside to see if it’ll fit and it does now I’m just need to draw it up and see how it looks with the rest of the design hey hey hey heat [Music] heat [Music] [Applause] [Music] heat heat so there we are i’ve got the finished concept sketch i’ll have to be honest I’m pretty pleased with it obviously when looking at it you do have to get past my limited drawing skills but I think it does give an idea of what I have in my head and I think it shows that it could possibly work but to now move forward and start breaking ground in the garden and start building something we can’t really use this concept sketch so what I need to do now is take measurements of the garden and then draw up this design accurately to scale in CAD software and the software I’m going to use is SketchUp which is completely free to use [Music] online [Music] heat heat [Music] heat [Music] heat [Music] heat heat [Music] heat heat [Music] all right right so now for the final touches just to give it a bit more life I’ve exported the model out of SketchUp and into another free program called Twin Motion so that I can add some high-quality textures and plants and hopefully make it look like a real space [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so there we have it that’s the finished concept design all done now I know this style of video is a bit different from my normal type of content but I really hope you guys did enjoy it as it was really fun to make if you did please drop a like down below as it really helps me out and also let me know your thoughts down below in the comments what do you think of this style of video and do you have any thoughts on the design all feedback is greatly appreciated we’re also going to start the build process very soon and document the entire thing so if you do want to stay up to date with that make sure that you hit that subscribe button down below so that you never miss an update but with all that being said take it easy and enjoy the rest of your day [Music] [Music]

Hi boss, your videos are very nice but the views are very low. Can I discuss with you how to increase the views on the videos?
