  1. I overwinter my greenstalk strawberries in zone 6-7 by just unstacking them and surrounding them with mulched leaves surrounding them and a light layer on top and that does great!

  2. Hi Jess! I got to see you at the homestead festival this past weekend 🥰 I’m loving the daily posts! Thank you for sharing your life with us!! ❤️

  3. You need to delete the first video with no sound asap. It will negatively affect your channel by lowering the algorithm's recommending your videos to new viewers. I will delete this comment after you do delete it.

  4. Sweet Logan is one of my dearest and most treasured friends. This spoke so directly to her heart! Thank you for giving her this uplifting advice and encouragement.

And thank you, Logan, for introducing me to Jess’s channel! Just subscribed 🥰

  5. lol oh Jess I don’t know how to work our tv either. Every time I half figure it out something changes. Obviously I don’t watch a lot of tv 😂.

  6. DagNabbit! The whole time I was at lunch at work, you were having a live stream! Normally I work from home but today I'm in the office! 😅😅

  7. no Question, just a comment cuz I know ya'll will understand. This morning was looking out the kitchen window at 1 of my beautiful evergreens with a birdfeeder that my grandson placed on it (he is 6'8") that I can't reach – I was thinking, hmm…that tree is at least 2 dads tall 🙂

  8. It’s gardening time!
Thanks for sharing I live in Ohio
So I love your garden tours seeing how advanced you are in the season

  9. I planted two paw paw trees in my yard. The first one I used a large shade cloth, which took a lot of TLC but it’s thriving beautifully now with full sun.

  10. My family heritage is from Scotland as well, Clan Black! Going there and learning the history was probably one of the highlights of my travel experience!

  11. Squash/Zucchini recipes for The Farmer's Table would be great! Other than zucchini boats, I'm out of ideas on how to prepare them. As far as the podcast, today's episode was great!

  12. BRAVO! I wish I wasn't taught to overeat and then top it off with dessert. I'm 330 lbs and that's my "WHY," but at 54 it's Incredibly hard to do better. I know how, and I need to handle it swiftly, while I'm still not on any prescriptions, but I am dealing with mental challenges and heartache, etc. But I'm still eating from my classroom garden!! TY for ALL of your old soul Jess-isms❤ They always help me!
PS- I don't know how many times I feel asleep at my table because I didn't like veggies. They were all from the cheapest brand of cans! They ALL tasted like disappointment!! Now, I LOVE garden veggies!

  13. Hi Jess! Goshen girl from Murray Fest last year. We will be closing on 100 acres by the 15th of July. Growing food for our region. His timing is perfect. His provision is beautiful and better than we could have asked or imagined. Thank you for sharing your prayers when you were pooped after a crazy schedule last year. May your cells be energized as you recover from offering yourself to so many once again.

  14. COMPLETING OFF SUBJECT… I just finished reading Bridges of Madison County. (Clint Eastwood starred in movie years ago) the chapter of him using his camera, making his subject matter to come alive, telling a story, just the romance of him using his cameras. MADE ME THINK OF YOU! I’d buy a picture book of your love of your land veggies, flowers, animals and FAMILY.

  15. I know you don't want to post things ahead of time but if you are heading to the Outer Hebrides, I'd love to meet you! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

  16. I'm at the part where someone says Jeremiah should be on more podcasts….I second that!
I really appreciate Jeremiah's insight when you converse. His thoughts process is different than yours…obviously. 😆 You both very much compliment each other in your perspectives and ideas!
He has the engineer brain, but you have creative, gardening ADHD spaghetti….."SQUIRREL!!" 🐿️ brain… which I appreciate and relate to you both! 🙋🏽‍♀️ 😁

  17. We are in 7B, I leave my strawberries in during the winter. This year my strawberries are in my greenstalk, so I'm not sure what to do for winter, probably will just leave them.

  18. Podcast topic ideas: friendship, community connection, marriage, housekeeping on your heart, planning a homestead: house necessities (we’ll be building) and outdoor necessities/placement (new cow and sheep owner), you could do an animal series and give us more than what’s in your book since you have more experience now, of course Bible studies any time, I love the other ideas too!

  19. HAVE YOU NOTICED ANY CHANGE IN THE LENGTH OF YOUR GROWING SEASON? We seem to be lengthening out here in NW Arkansas…missed your live dang it! Doc appt…thanks ladybug! ❤

  20. I've never had issues with Hornworms on my tomatoes even though I've had lots of Hummingbird Moths. From doing a quick search this may have been because I've always planted marigolds with my tomatoes. Also, they really loved my morning glories and petunias which were located away from my tomatoes.

  21. Caught the live when you were about 1/2 way done but was out in public with no headphones. I’ll be sure to keep those with me from now on. 😂

  22. I am loving your podcasts. I listen to them on my way into work. I turned 40 last month and my kids are similar in ages with yours but I have 3 girls and 1 boy. My oldest just finished her freshman year of college and my son is entering his senior year of high school. Navigating the transition from high school/teens to adults is proving tougher than I had imagined. Not just for me but her too. Is Jackson struggling finding himself and how are you navigating those struggles? Maybe a podcast idea?
I’m homesteading on .4 acres in a small suburban rural city waiting for the day I have many more acres.
Thanks for the inspiration, positive vibes and encouragement of faith. ❤

  23. I’m so with your girl on the technology it’s one of the things that keeps me from creating a channel because I get stuck every time I try to start something. I feel so dumb.

  25. Hi Jess, I love all your videos, I did not make it to the live, I love your gardens, you have helped me so much with my planting and those boys are yours are adorable…my daughters chickens are eating their eggs do you have any ideas on stopping this, they have tried golf balls to trick them but that does not work..

  26. I am so pleased that you are going t Scotland. My sister and I went there in early October several years ago. We went to an old castle on the coast. I did some research on Ancestry and found out my 26 x gh grandfather was from there:

  27. Love listening to you. Would Love to see more Farmer’s Table from you. Veggies are my favorite thing to cook. Usually roast them but would like other ideas. Thank you will water my green stalk every day. Hearts and Flowers coming your way. ❤️💐
