What’s the weather like in NYC? I’m not too familiar but Id assume its cooler than this Arizona heat I’m experiencing, cheiridopsis are winter growers (cool weather) if you could stick them outside in the full sun they would probably do better, just acclimate them gradually. I have my cheiridopsis baking outside in 105 degree for a good 4-6 hours of direct morning/mid day sun then get shaded in the evening. Looking at how floppy the new leaves are and you said you only watered it once I believe it needs more intense light. Also more intense heat would help with re absorbing the old leaves. Hopefully other people chime in and give other opinions.
