I hope that one day I have the skills to create a space that brings others half as much joy as this brings me! I’ve taken these pictures over the years, it’s my favorite house to see on my walks by far. I thought you guys might enjoy as well!

They were just smart about their plant choices. This is very low maintenance.

I walk around my neighborhood and make notes about what is growing well close by to me, and I add those plants to my garden.

It looks like this is various Lily plants and hollyhocks, with clover for ground cover.

Hollyhocks reseed themselves and Lilies spread.

If you plant hollyhock seeds this year you’ll get flowers next year. If you knock on their door and ask them to call you if they decide to separate some of their Lilies in the fall I bet they will. You can ask for hollyhock seeds too.

I have massive black hollyhocks and I get a lot of requests for seeds from people walking by. I always oblige.

That’s a lot of lillies and day lillies!

I have both of those and they are super invasive and spread quite a bit. They’re beautiful, but I gotta pull some of them every year so they don’t take over the whole yard

I’d love to see what happens if I’m ever away from my yard for a year or two 😅
