My favorite self seeder! Love these beautiful white blooms that provide both ecological and aesthetic impact! Penstemon digitalis/ Foxglove beardtounge.

Nothing wrong with that!!! I bet that’s a bumblebee heaven

I noticed this all over on a drive recently. At first I thought, depressingly “anything that abundant is going to be invasive” but then I figured out it was penstemon.

And then I started noticing that there are less invasive on that drive than I remembered which makes me think the local government has been busy!

The self seeding ability is insane. I love it. So do the native bees!

    Amazing!
I’m really envious of stands of Pong because I’ve avoided it in the sunny spot in my backyard due to the fact that it’s toxic to pets. But I also realize I have several other plants in that same spot that are toxic also – just “not as toxic“ has pants on… I think what I’m trying to say is, any pet owners have you found that found that penstemon seems appealing for your pets who like to nibble? Recognizing of course, the disclaimer that in the end no one can promise anything about what an animal will or will not try.
