It’s a wretched mix of centipede, bermuda, dallis, bahia, clover, dandelions and every other plant/weed that’ll grow here, but I’m making progress. Trying to get St Augustine to take over. Cut mostly with a 60” zero turn. I cut near the house on the small standup. Next big project is soft washing the house… maybe.

Wow. That much lawn to maintain is giving me second-hand anxiety.

How do you like the surfer? It looks so light compared to other standers

A nice open flat lawn like this would be pure therapy to mow, looks great

Looking nice dude! You are going to loose the war against Bermuda if you have it. In full sun, even with Louisiana daily thunderstorms, Bermuda will eventually take over. Invest in a good pull behind pump sprayer and hit it with the recognition and fusilade combo (with a surfactant to make sure it sticks and dye to know where you’ve sprayed). One application I applied 6 weeks ago has so far killed off the common Bermuda in my zoysia lawn.

You sure know how to make life harder!

My money is on Bermuda winning the battle if you consistently mow. It sure does thrive on direct sunshine.

Very cool house, btw, looks awesome.

    Cattails? Soggy?

Sir, your lawn was a wetland.

This is the lawn equivalent of a house with all white walls, counters, floors and a single piece of furniture.

Looks pure, but I need some variety up in this b.

Great looking grass though, well done.

Based on the type of yard you want, I don’t think you actually want to live in south LA. You may consider- going to live somewhere else.

You’ll have flooding problems in a year. Wetlands don’t leave. You just got rid of all the plants that helped manage them.

Me when I destroy cool native land and make a green dessert

Cmon put some garden patches or something, cattails in a poorly drained yard are ya sure you didn’t just destroy wetlands lmao

  12. Acres, at least 3 but probably closer to 8 and maybe even more…

Yikes. This is really sad. Totally sterile and lacking any purpose or benefit to the ecosystem or yourself.

How do you deal with the heat/humidity down there??

Could park the Goodyear blimp in your backyard lol. Clean and pretty, way too much for me, too each their own, my friend.

Cultivating a sports field for the local community or whats the point of this?

I probably would’ve leaned into the wetland just made an actual pond
