The winners of Dogwood Circle Garden Club’s monthly “Garden of the Month” award for June are Steve and Rachelle Sheets, 790 Park Avenue in Woolrich. Their beautifully maintained yard offers multiple varieties of hosta, colorful roses, lavender, sage and potted annuals, perennials and a range of textures from pines, delicate flowers and exotic plantings. Driftwood, sculpture and potted plant accents add to the “hardscape.” A “rain garden” of river rock controls rain runoff and a trio of handmade wood deer oversee all. More photos are on Dogwood’s website www.lhgardenclub.com. The judges of July’s winning garden are Katelyn (570-463-1902) and Chryslynne (570-660-5476). Gardens must be visible from a public street or alley, be neat and maintained and feature natural plantings with a variety of color and textures. Judging will occur during the last week in June.
