Most air plants die after blooming, but will produce baby pups after flowering. Keep the babies on the mother plant until they are minimally 1/3 the size of the mother (which will take several months). It can also take a while for the pups to show up. And don’t let the flower get wet if you want the flower to last longer.

Yes but the term is misleading. Air plants grow from their center point when the center point blooms that growth point stops working. However they will produce more growth points AKA “pups”. You can either leave the pups attached to the parent plant in which case the pups will eventually Bloom and produce more pups and you’ll wind up with a spherical clump eventually, Or you can remove the pups once they’re at least a third of the parent size to get new individual air plants.
