This year we saw Astragalus bisulcatus (Two-grooved Milkvetch) and Delphinium geyeri (Geyer’s Larkspur) bloom. The bisulcatus has been growing for a few years (2-3?) but this was the first year with flowers. The larkspurs germinated and grew just this year. I sowed them both directly into the established Blue Grama meadow sometime between 2-5 years ago. We’re in Denver. We received over 5” of rain this month, double the average for May, which I suspect prompted the larkspurs? There are also a few white Prairie Larkspurs in there as well.

Beautiful color and how fun that they popped up!

Gotta love Lahkspuh as we call it New England.

    Toxic plants get left alone!

Oh man I want an established blue grama grass meadow so badly. I love that grass. Send more pics when it’s in bloom! Nice flowers, too.
