    Please look away!

  4. Shed a tear for that beautiful leaf but also, looks like there’s a new one growing in ready to unfurl 🌱

Houseplant? more like plant the size of a house

Just think how excited you to be when the next new leaf pops out!

  7. I understand why. But that really does suck. Sorry for your loss.

These things are basically weeds where I live in FL. Just cut off the damaged leaf and give it lots of water and it will be fine.

    Oh man poor thing.

But whoa, the fence on the fence, talk about privacy! Woohoo!

Is that a gigantea? Beautiful even if it’s not. I’d be upset for a hot second because that seems like something a kid would do – sometimes on accident and sometimes on purpose – but there are truly bigger issues in the world to cry about.

I would’ve made the child glue it back together with his tears and agony.

About how long does it take for them to get to this size?

I grew up with this plant all around.Beware children playing near them, its sap is irritant to the skin. Same applies to adult handling.

Oooohh, I feel your pain OP.
I had brought my Alocasia regal to the foot of my bed to get more sun. And one morning I woke up all energised and threw my doona to the end of the bed. It landed on the plant and snapped the biggest leaf off.

I wanted to call in sick to work. My alocasia saw my pain and gave me 6 new leaves in the space of two months.

I remember braking these down when i was just a lil kid. I never knew how expensive they were until i started owning my own places and got into decent decor.

At Christmas an unattended maniac child grabbed the tallest stem of my bird of paradise and cranked it like a slot machine while I wasn’t looking.. I haven’t spoken to the parents since 😅
