The glochids , and the way the scion envelopes the pere stock. Otherwise pereskiopsis is wonderful graft stock for seedlings. Go from pea size to golf ball size and bigger in just a few months.
Water and feed pretty much every other day.
What's your favorite graft stock for seedlings? Do you love or hate pereskiopsis?

Absolutely love pere! Lophs can be challenging if you plan on degrafting. Trichos do great and can be a quick shortcut to having an awesome mini stand

Just started growing some I haven’t attempted a graft yet but I am impressed at how quickly it shot out roots practically over night and can tolerate constant water which is useful as a Florida gardener. We don’t get constant rain but 15 seconds to 10 mins of rain before bone dry multiple times a day during summer I decided I to start growing these to see what kind of stuff I can do grafting outdoors lol

damn glochids. limited lifespan. when it loses its leaves it becomes much slower.
