Reports of a shooting at Jersey Gardens Mall in Elizabeth, New Jersey, are circulating on social media on Sunday. One Facebook user urged, “Check on your loved ones, there’s a shooting at Jersey Gardens Mall! My daughter is safe, thank God.” Another post simply stated, “Shooting at Jersey Gardens Mall.”
New Jersey Transit has acknowledged police activity in the mall, posting on X, “NJ TRANSIT bus service traveling to and from Jersey Gardens Mall in Elizabeth, will originate and terminate at Ikea Dr for New York service and at Trumbull Street for local service, due to police activity at the mall.”
So far, the Elizabeth Police Department has not given any official confirmation.
