Saw someone having brown kinda tips on some of their grass and asked for help. One of the replies was "just sharpen your blade idiot"

So here I am, sharpening the thing thinking "no…it's them that's wrong"

No….no, it was me

This just reminds me that I’m taking off the blades from a batwing mower and sharpening them on an old bench grinder next week

It’s like a retaining bolt, three bushings, and then a hammer & punch from the top of the deck to get one of the six things off

    I don’t wanna lol

I respect you being able to admit that and sharing it for others who might be making the same goof.

  5. How sharp is sharp enough here team? I run my through the bench grinder at the beginning of the season and they’re usually in reasonable shape still by the end.

Do they need to be SHARP or capable of cutting paper?

Your center stripe is drifting a bit.

    STRAIGHTEN IT UP!

Does the attachment sharper from Home Depot work?

It makes a huge difference on long or wet grass to it just gets through it so much easier. This starts to be a concern with a nice thick yard so yes keep the blades sharp!

Style points for having a spare blade and keeping both sharp so you can swap whenever you need to. They are usually pretty cheap.
