  1. I always crush up some aspirin and put a few tsps in a mixture of fertilizer, bone meal and crab and lobster meal and throw a handful of that into a hole when I plant tomatoes. I haven’t thought of spraying when disease kicks in. I will definitely try this!

  2. James, I love your videos. Super informative and helpful. First time veggie & fruit gardener here, zone 7b. I maintain 27 houseplants and figured if I can grow them I can grow other things. I have 3 tomato transplants, none bearing fruit yet, 3 cucumbers coming up, and several strawberries and more.

  3. If somebody wanted an organic version, I wonder if composting around the plant with some shredded willow bark, or spraying with a shredded willow bark “tea” might be an option?

  4. I wonder if I can do this for my lawn, which shows disease, brown patch, etc.. year after year.

  5. Be careful with asprin. Its probably good in low dosage, but even a tab in a gallon of water may cause plants to lose its ability to orient up and down. Roots will grow sideways and upwards. The plant above ground may become stunted or grow sideways.
I would recommend silica avove aspirin, and calcium above all others. But everything in moderate dosages

  6. So is this for greenbeans, cucumbers, etc as well or just Tomatoes? Sounds like we should go ahead and spray the whole garden!

  7. I did a video on my posting channel Dreaming of an Echols Homestead last week about tricking my tomatoes into thinking their sick. I used baby aspirin.

  8. All I use for bugs is diatomaceous Earth and it is amazing. I dont get any bugs or birds eating my tomatoes! or peppers… love it! I will plant with aspirin this time… sounds great!

  9. This makes sense because I've been tokd in several occasions to add a aspirin to a vase of flowers to help them last longer!

  10. Hey Karen! James you are such an inspiration. I've always loved my little window boxes, but when we bought a house I now had my own yard. I asked my husband to make me a raised bed, which he did and that year it raineddddd!! We had a lot of mushrooms but no vegetables. I have evolved a little each year however, I've had more luck in the past year since I first saw your video. Thanks so much, keep up the good work. Also, I am in Connecticut Zone 6

  11. It seems similar to the rooting powder as well. Not sure how close the 2 are, but sometimes, in the past, i would water plants with asprin or the rooting powder and each time they do great. Haven't done any this year…yet.

  12. Thank you, James!!! I heard this info from Brian on next level gardening, but he lives in such a different climate than me (He’s in Cali and I’m zone 5b/6a). Just this morning I told my husband that I wished I could hear your thoughts on using aspirin – I kid you not! You must have read my mind😂
