i have a paludarium planted tank, its at its start month still. the aquatic aspect is doing pretty well, HOWEVER, the top has an intense mold issue and it fucking reeks. the top is open and i have a fan going in the room but the top of the tank lid is pretty high up so ig the circulation is not reaching the surface. im thinking on putting a lid on it with a tiny fan or something inside so im not poisoning myself with mold spores. i had to drain the tank a bit today to move it and i got a horrible headache, should have wore an n95.

ive put tropical springtails in there but they have mostly just, died on the surface of the water because they cant get back up onto the land part for some reason. im planning on catching some local pond springtails which might be more suitable so thats to be seen.

the main mold problem is the spiderwood sticking up out of the water. should i just absolutely strap the bare sticks with moss? im getting more terrestrial plants in the future thats why its a bit sparse

Did you add any springtails? They would help with that.
