– grandipes (if you like Dean McDowell, this looks just like it – but climbing)
– silver sword
– monstera adonsonii
– glorious
– splendid
– fuzzy petiole
– sodiroi
– choco red (can’t really see it)
– queleii (can’t really see it)
– melanochrysum (absolutely tragic – ignore)
In the trays
– Dean McDowell x3
In the pots:
– Dean McDowell
– Gloriosum
– Colombia
– Grandipes
Poles are made of white PVC guttering and chicken wire – filled entirely with coco husk.
Easiest growers:
– silver sword
– Dean McDowell
– fuzzy petiole
– painted lady
– monstera siltepecana
– monstera adonsonii
All other plants have been divas re: humidity – with leaves often getting stuck and snapping. My solution was to “tent” them with clear bin bags to make a bit of a humidity zone. It makes my upstairs look like a murder scene but since then I’ve had some pretty fantastic maturation from many of them.
No issues with pests or anything – I try and regularly “wash” my leaves with a hose which I think helps a lot.
A few of the leaves are gnarled/missing/burnt. This happens when I forget to open the roof vent/door on a hot summer day and the conservatory turns into a kiln
