Looks great but I’d be hesitant to tell neighbours “scary bugs” are coming and you’re encouraging it. Maybe go with pretty butterflies. Everyone likes butterflies.

So much plastic hate, and it’s fair.
But it’s probably one of the fastest way to kill grass and not have to fight that battle. It is a shit right if you’ve ever tried it.
It can be dangerous if it’s in there too long though, it’ll bake the soil ecology. But it doesn’t look like landscape fabric that is going to stay down.
Happy grass killing, and flower growing to you!
