How are you heat-proofing your garden this summer? Share your favorite tip below! -CaliKim & CameraGuy

Kim you have really worked hard on everything. I'm pretty sure it was 5 or 6 years ago I saw your video on composting and you were making compost in a really small space back then. We both have come a long way since then. Keep up the good work!
I try to let my plants get morning sun đ and evening shade. Not all my plants can take advantage of that so I'll do the same thing as you do. I use shade cloth or I'll move pots to the shade when possible.
Love the little blooper! đ€ Mac felt like he wasnât getting enough camera time đ
Thanks for the shade cloth reminder. We donât get over 90 here until later in the summer and only for a few days here and there so itâs not really something thatâs on my mind until the temps hit us.
Thank for that my peppers plants Is getting like that too
Thanks for showing how to get the best use out of shade cloth. Also how to improvise, I have some left over voile thst could be useful after watching your video. I used the black one earlier this year when some of the tomato plants were small. Take care Maggie UK
Heat videos the same day…I learned from the bestđđđ
Iâve used shade cloth for years now and I love sitting under there too. Itâs a nice break from the sun for us too đ
Shade cloth all summer long temps are 103 F this week, which means no more under 100 đ„”
Thank you, as always you have great information. When I lived in Southern California, I would use my pop up canopy for shade. It really did work. I have some ideas for a prettier alternative here in the Texas heat however. đ
I've found here in Alabama that placing my peppers where they get afternoon shade really helps. I had thought of doing the same with my tomatoes, some good information in here Kim, thanks.
Okay – so LOVE the bricks risers underneath the fabric pots! Who'da thunk? I think I stole the idea of drip trays under them from you as well. Now to find some castors. đ Thanks CK – great stuff!
Thanks for all of the value, you consistently bring!â€
I allways use a Shade cloth There my best friend
The plant roller for your Smart Pot raised bed. Where did you get them? I have smart pots also and I use a mesh laundry bag from the dollar store!
Also, that cabbage moth making a debut is hilarious đ
Your Smart Pots with the flowers look great! We have few days 90-100F+ in the Monterey Bay area (Gilroy does) but I need proper shade cloth. â€=MAC
Should shade cloth be left on all the time or removed for cooler mornings? I work full time so I'm trying to figure out the logistics. Thank you!
Such pretty plants. âDonât over complicate itâ i love that because sometimes i catch myself like why are you over thinking this? lol. Mac †such a cutie!
