I think this might have more to do with chlorine instead of just the cover being on the grass. Maybe not, but it would super heat the ground which would be ok for most grass.

Same thing happens with the kids slip ‘n slide – definitely not chlorine damage.

Zone 8a hybrid bermuda here. We had a flip cup slip and slide party for 4 years straight in our yard before kids. Used dawn dish soap and it was a 20×10 brown rectangle at the end of the day. Apparently dishsoap acts as a surfactant and a a week after fertilizer it was the greenest thickest patch in my yard.

But honestly when I move shit off the grass I just think about how my kid had a blast playing with it and that makes me feel good. Having a soft lawn to play in is ideal, but if they fuck it up, they had a good time, and thatâs the most important thing
