Needs feeding I recommend osmercote for slow release feeding, many shops chop them too early. Feed them and it should be fine.

It might just be shock from transplanting, in which case it should bounce back in a few weeks as long as it’s in the right position (if the other one’s happy then should be ok). The foliage looks happy enough so it might just be reserving energy in roots and leaves rather than blooms. Good luck!

I gave up on box years ago because I am the kiss of death to them, I’m the same with bamboo too!

Yeah, looks doomed unfortunately. I’ve lost all mine over the past two years as have my neighbours.

Looks like it might be positioned too close to house, under the eaves so less likely to get rain, so you may need to water it more frequently. Give it a decent feed as well whilst you at it.

Transplant shock would be my guess, along with the prolonged dry spell, just finished.

I don’t think it’s the dreaded box blight. Give it a liquid feed and plenty of TLC. It should regenerate over time.

I’m starting to think, any plant any person wants to live, will die, and any plant no person cares about will live.

This buxus has been effected by box moth which is taking over virtually every box that I cut, I’d spray it with topbuxus XenTari which u can get online pretty cheap, it does the job for a while but it always seems to come back eventually, we tend to spray ours 2-3 times a year once at the start of the year and then spraying it right after cutting it, good luck!

Could be box caterpillar. Can you see any webs? Any chewed leaves? (I think I can see a few eaten leaves). Our 10m long box hedge has just been hit by this. I have ordered some xentari but not convinced it will work long-term, so already thinking up plans for a replacement hedge.

With Buxus, it’s difficult these days to keep, at work had to get rid of a whole hedge and about 15 mature Buxus pots too. If you clip it too tight, you risk blight, and box caterpillars can hide in it easier. If you don’t cut it and leave it loose, they may survive longer, but the caterpillars will still eat them. You’re fighting a losing battle I’m afraid

    The mistake was buying box.

You can’t realistically grow it unless you use a lot and I mean a LOT of very harmful chemicals. It’s not good for the insects and polinators.

Stop growing box and find something else, there are plants available that look similar.

Feed it with nutrients and make sure drainage is good and it should bounce back
