  1. Bless you Jess and how you always say the right thing, I had to rewind this video and wrote that ending down, I call it the Willow Tree Story ❤😊

  2. Well, I guess now we know where the natives got their three sisters planting inspiration. From a compost pile. That’s so awesome. Love you, Jess.❤❤❤

  3. Last year I had acorn squash grow out of my compost. Early on I thought it was cantaloupe because I forgot that I had thrown rotten acorn squash in there. It actually worked as a trap crop so well that this year I threw butternut squash (my preferred squash lol) on purpose 😅

  4. So cool to see u everyday. I think u r getting younger! Thank u for all the aspects of homesteading u cover on ur channel without the crazy.. We enjoy following right along with u makes it so much better! Blessings!

  5. While pokeweed berries and roots are poisonous, some parts of the pokeweed plant are edible when properly prepared. Only the young, tender shoots, harvested before the plant flowers, are considered safe to eat. These shoots can be prepared as "poke salad," a traditional Appalachian dish.

  6. My guess for the pumpkins in the compost pile was back when the goats were pregnant, and you were treating them (especially Vergie I think) for parasites with extra pumpkin snacks!? Haha! No matter what caused the pumpkin mound, it looks really cool!❤😂

  7. i love the compost pile! mine (passive pile, more shaded than it should be) keeps sprouting avocados and sweet potato <3

  8. What a beautiful chaotic compost garden! Even if it doesn't produce anything you "need", maybe there can be some great things for your animals to munch on. Free fodder and feed is never wasted on a farm. And I found out the same thing last year about waiting too long to stake/tie up tomato plants. When they grow quickly, they sprawl and root quicker than a person thinks they will. That was one garden chore that shouldn't have "waited for the weekend". LOL

  9. Jess, Hi again !!!!! I also wear many cotton linen clothes…….I wash EVERYTHING in cold water and I only use 1 cup white vinegar INSTEAD of any laundry detergent….then I dry EVERYTHING on hot for 45 min to an hour then I hang everything………I do not Hand wash anything and I no ;longer get skin breakouts from all the toxins in the detergents we all use………just a thought people………we have been washing with vinegar for over 10 years. 1 liter was $.99……….but now IF you can find it under $4, that is great……..I pour it into smaller bottle that fit under my washer in the drawer……….our drawer holds 8 bottles so I buy more when it is on sale or when I am down to 1/2 a drawer full……LOL

  10. Don't you think this compost pile could possibly be so GREAT because of all the rain we have gotten this year vs others. We've had a LOT of rain this spring. Much Love!

  11. I rely on a couple plants growing out of the compost pile and usually toss my leftover potatoes in on purpose and they produce a few each year. Let nature take it's course.

  12. I bet the seeds were hiding in the bedding since you feed garden produce to your animals. Birds probably did any others
