I love this guy more than my lawn. Think I got my work cut out for me!

Can dogs not be trained to go in a certain area?

It’s like an aerial view of a golf course

  3. I might suggest some over-watering to help flush out the extra nitrogen. Then, it may help to sprinkle lime and gypsum on the lawn to update the PH.

You can use treats to train the dog to always pee in one spot off in a corner

I had that issue. I set my sprinklers to go on for 2 minutes every 12 hours and the problem went away.

It helps by keeping Nitrogen from buildup up to toxic levels by bringing it down into the deeper soil. I also do a soak once every few weeks to be sure. Works like a charm

I buy these little dog treats that come in an orange tub. My dogs love them and they definitely help the lawn. Been using them for years. I would share the specifics but the last time I did that the mods deleted my comment, for reasons I don’t fully understand.

  7. I follow my dog with a watering can and immediately dilute where they pee with like 2 gallons of water. Seems to prevent burn 90% of the time.

Wow, does that dog have a urinary tract infection?

I have two big dogs, a run is the best investment.

Do some grasses do better with dog pee? I’ve got two and they don’t seem to kill my grass. In Portland, OR in the house for the last 6 years.

What’s crazy is I have three German shepherds and they don’t do THAT much damage

Why not train him to atleast pee in one area of lawn. Pref behind the trampoline (or under lol) 😂

I give mine filtered water and it solved the problem. Have a brita pitcher just for them.

In addition to the pee, our dogs dig and run so much. We lost ALL the grass in our backyard. I’ve been spending the last year fixing it. We had to fence the dogs off into their own area which is currently a mud pit

I have a Wolfhound and a Great Dane. The Wolfhound drinks so much water that he doesn’t kill the grass. My Great Dane kills a basketball-sized patch every time he goes. Thankfully, I have trained him to go to the corner of the yard, and I overseed constantly lol

Cut your grass higher and not so low. If you cut it higher it doesn’t get as bad.
