This is what I came home to after work yesterday, after some strong winds in the Chicago subs. My adrenaline helped repot everything in 5 min. Couldn’t let my time and money go to waste… might bring them out later again..
I’ll def remember to add the bricks back again 😅🥲(some plant were already moved pre disaster, thankfully).

Oh, god. PLEASE don’t use those things. It will end in heartbreak every time… Take it from me

I’ve gotten into the habit of taking all of my outdoor plants off their stands and putting them on the floor of my deck when bad weather is coming. I also tied every stand I could to the deck railing. We just keep getting all these crazy wind storms, and I learned my lesson last year, lol.

Yeah, unless your stand is quite low and sturdy, and your pot is quite heavy, all kinds of unfortunate things are likely to happen once they go outdoors.

I second the recommendation to line them up on the ground. You can also put some pots inside cinder blocks, or surround them with bricks, because those lightweight plastic pots are going to blow over even on the ground.

I see that kind of greenhouse fall over so many times. My dad had one and it fell over once. He had to weigh it down with cement blocks and tie it down. Once he stood outside with it during a wind storm

Super/gorilla glue all the pipes together in the Y cross &T fittings. Put flat flag stone on the lower pipes. And put the greenhouse against the house. I’m in Vegas, the wind is every week. I always joke that I thought Chicago was the Windy City…

I put that little green house indoors due to its flimsiness tbh! I start my indoor seedlings with it and put my outdoor plants on it in the winter

But… yeah, someone suggested putting your plants onto the ground when a storm is coming and I agree with that one! I also do that!

This happened to me the day after I got my starter seeds going. This is my first year ever gardening, so I had to take a moment to collect myself.

I had this same greenhouse and the winds took it and my little starters and smashed it on the ground. Learned my lesson

  9. Ahhhaha I have this exact one and I had a bunch of veggies in it and it blew over onto its face a few weeks ago. I let it sit there for like three days because I was so mad (and the weather was terrible and I knew cleanup would be horrid)

Lol, the same thing happened to mine. It’s now half the height. I lost all of my tomato starters as well.

A little plant steroid can help them recover from physical stress. Pick wisely.
