First pic today, second April 4. Additional pics from today if you scroll through!

I've added over ten new straight native species since April, and around 20 since last year. (+ some cultivars, especially of coreopsis.)

I meant May 4th, the old picture is from may!

I like to have some cultivars too. I’m a sucker for a bleeding heart and a peony🧚… Excited to put some anise hyssop and purple prairie clover in!!

You have SUCH a beautiful backyard 😍

I love it. I’m in Chicago. We’re (slowly) making our backyard native. I especially love your water feature. Can you share more details about it? I want to eventually apply to be a Certified Wildlife Habitat, which requires having some sort of water.

Forcing a “so happy for you” through clenched teeth as I choke down bitter jealously.

Seriously though, this is gorgeous, and you should be super proud.

Where did you get the tub for the water garden? I’m in a similar setting it’s perfect for what I want to do next. You are officially goals!

That shit is bangin’, good work. Lots of good mornings spent strolling around looking at new growth, flowers, pollinators, etc, I’m sure, and here’s to many more to come.

Are you getting pollinator action yet? I have seen so few around and wondering if it’s related to our cold spring or part of the overall insect population crisis. I’m in your same area.

I’d love to learn more about your pond setup! Specifically which pump you use and how your fish are faring etc

Thank you for posting this! This is the first time my SO is ok with a water feature for my native space.

… I told him not this year but it will be this year 😬👀

Is the top “bucket” the bog marsh filter thing people talk about?
