I keep Dioscorea elephantipes and bowiea volubilis, so any tips for these guys would be appreciated. I don't want to accidentally kill them, bad enough they're poached.

I've since gently educated the family member btw, they'll ask in future.

  1. I have no idea but if they’re from Thailand then I would think they can handle insane moisture and heat. Thailand is brutal 🥵

    Side note, I don’t know if this was a Dioscorea or a Stephania or what, but this sweet lady had an absolutely massive caudex in her cafe on the side of the road in Vietnam. I’m guessing someone found it growing in the jungle nearby, or when they were clearing some land or something. The caudex alone was at least 18in tall. I don’t know if that’s the best way to grow it though…

    Why are you so sure they are poached? They are fairly small, super uniform, no injuries.

    The hype was 5yrs ago, these look 2-3 yr old so can easily be grown from seed
