Good luck with all that, it’s gonna be worth it I’m sure x)

Right?!!! I’m spending 40 hours a week in the yard right now and I’m on steroids and muscle relaxers for my back.

I got 3 chip drops directly onto my lawn, covering it in mulch about a foot deep. Put several pots of plants on top and left it there for 6 months. It was largely work free.

I got a chip drop and it took me so long to lay it all down that the neighbors complained to the city and I was threatened with fines if I didn’t move it all immediately.
7/10 would kill all the grass again, thanks a lot assholes.

I took out a 2 ft by 5 ft piece of lawn the other week and broke my pitchfork while I was at it. You bet I was cursing this sub. Excellent work getting rid of your grass btw – no doubt you’ve gained some muscle although you’ve also likely lost some sanity.

All the hard work will be worth it. You don’t get what you want by doing nothing.

Don’t remove the grass, sod cut it and just flip it and cover with heavy art paper or cardboard put mulch on top and then plant next spring. The mulch will keep weeds to a minimum and help with the grass to decompose. I did that last year, I can’t tell you how many earthworms had moved in and broken down most of the sod and left go top soil.

Rule 1: Don’t remove entire lawn all at once.

I did 5 yards of mulch last summer. Never going to underestimate that kind of labor again.
