National Children’s Gardening Week (24th May – 1st June) aims to inspire children’s interests in activities such as seed sowing, planting and other gardening activities. The campaign takes place annually in the ‘warm’ week towards end of May as a great way for children to see speedy results.
To ensure children enjoy their gardening activities, the housebuilder has gifted a £250 donation to The Fine Collective dedicated to new gardening equipment and resources for children to use during the warmer months.
Ruth Hill, CEO at The Fine Collective, said: “Children’s Gardening Week is a great campaign and we’re really grateful to Taylor Wimpey for its kind donation. Gardening is a great way for our pupils to learn new skills outside of the classroom and it’s the perfect time of year for planting activities.

“The pupils were really excited to receive the new gardening equipment and we can’t wait to get stuck in to create a wonderful garden to enjoy.”
Helen Chard, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey North Midlands, said: “We’re delighted to have made this donation to The Fine Collective for Children’s Gardening Week. At Taylor Wimpey, we’re always keen to encourage a connection with nature from a young age and campaigns such as Children’s Gardening Week are vital for teaching children about the environment.
“We hope the new gardening equipment will be put to good use and we look forward to seeing their green thumbs in action.”
