This is the first year I’ve tried growing my own veg properly after 20 years of gardening.
I can’t believe I left it this long. It’s revolutionised my diet, I actually enjoy and look forward to cooking because every meal is an opportunity to try making something new with what I have available.
I used to hate stir-fry’s because they were boring and didn’t fill me up. Now I love them. Throwing masses of Spinach, beetroot (leaves too), spring onions, carrots, cabbage, beans/peas, broccoli and peppers that I just picked from the garden into a wok, and having an instant nutritious meal is just the best.
Not having to think about cost per meal, or trying to stretch out portions of veg to get more value out of them is liberating. It almost feels greedy and wasteful but I don’t even care, it’s weeks of meals for the cost of a few packets of seeds 😂

I did pulled pork buns yesterday with all fresh salad from my garden. Absolutely delicious.
