I checked the undersides of my common milkweed growing in the backyard and found these tiny guys! I only have two mature milkweed plants (one is looking a little rough) and I'm terrified the caterpillars will starve to death so tomorrow guess where I am going?

I also found a milkweed seedling in my vegetable garden while weeding yesterday. I've never been so excited to find a weed lol

Start collecting those seeds and you can have a planet of milkweed all over

Super cool! Nothing on mine yet…..but there isn’t time for chit chat, go get some more 😀😄😅

My advice is to slow down with common milkweed imo. It’ll grow on its own and spread fast in my experience so you wont need to waste too much money trying to spread it. Check out swamp milkweed and butterfly milkweed and others.

I was surprised mine came back, but it did exponentially.

  5. Wait, “BUY” milkweed?
But … but … it spreads like wildfire! Give it 2 years and you’ll be pulling some up to control it.

Grab a pod or 2 from around the area in the fall, toss them out where you want in the fall, in the spring you’ll have plenty.

You have to. I don’t make the rules.
