A subscriber tipped me off about a wildly neglected house sitting right in the middle of a beautiful neighborhood. When I pulled up, the yard was completely overgrown—sticking out like a sore thumb next to perfectly manicured lawns. I knocked on the neighbor’s door to get the story… but let’s just say things got a little awkward. Was he being rude—or just fed up with the mess? Either way, I came back the next day and took care of the yard for free. Watch how it all unfolds!

We let a COIN FLIP decide our fate… This is what I got!!!
A subscriber tipped me off about a sidewalk so overgrown it was almost unusable. but when we got there, we noticed something even worse: a house on the corner that looked like it had been forgotten for years. So me and AP flipped a coin to see who would take on the crazier project. While I was grinding away, something unexpected happened… A neighbor came over just as I was about to take off my mask and what he told me completely changed my mind.

Sup, beautiful people? I’m Al and welcome back to my YouTube channel. Have you guys ever seen a house that made you stop right in your tracks? Because all the other houses are so beautiful and in the middle is that one house that looks like it got left behind while everything else kept moving on. A subscriber hit me up about this place. And when I pulled up, I couldn’t believe it. I mean, we’re talking about a really nice neighborhood. Every lawn was trimmed, every house shining bright, and then boom, right in the middle, a jungle. This house stuck out like a sore thumb. I’m talking about the grass was super tall. Overgrown weeds and vines growing all over the sides of the house. So, I decided to knock on the neighbor’s door to get the scoop. And man, his house was flawless. It was super green, all edged up. It kind of looked like it belonged in a magazine. How’s it going? Good. You okay? And then when he came out, I asked him what the story was about this house next door. And this is what he said. Somebody bought it and put a roof on it and they say they’re going to mow the lawn and put some paint on it. After they put a brand new roof on this house, they ghosted it and they left it to become a big mess. I told him I’d mow it for free so it wouldn’t be a eyesore for him. And he said he actually almost mowed it yesterday for free. But what I do, I go around and I cut yards like this for free for people. I was curious about why it looks I almost mowed it for free yesterday when I mowed my yard. You almost mowed it yesterday. Look at He told me he couldn’t stand looking at it anymore. So I told him I might come back by tomorrow. I know all the neighbors would appreciate it. Then he rushed me off real quick. He said he was teaching a class right then and pretty much shut the door right in my face. All right, cool. So I I’m teaching. Okay, sorry about that. Yeah, have a good one. But I get it. People are busy and they really don’t want strangers knocking on their doors, especially if they didn’t really know what they’re up to. So the next day I came by and I went ahead and started cutting it up. As I got halfway through the yard, the same neighbor came outside to talk to me for a little bit, but you have to stay tuned to see what we talked about. I wanted to make this intro super short and sweet for you guys. So I just want to let you know I love you and I really hope you guys enjoy the video. It’s a good one. Let’s continue to cut it up every day. [Music] Okay. [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Heat. [Applause] [Music] Heat. I’m trying to make it look a little better for you. Yeah, it looks great, man. I hadn’t seen the house look like this for years. Oh, really? Yeah. Like I was wondering what was hitting my shoe or my foot. Roofing nail. Roofing nail. That’ll do it, huh? Yeah. You know, funny thing. I um my jogging shoes. Um I I used to go jogging every day and um I’d get back and I have a bloody sock. Uhhuh. And it was hurting, but I was working. Oh my goodness. Yeah. I was working through it and then finally one day I just turned my jogging shoe over and there it was. Roofing nail. Roofing nail. Yep. Took it out. Problem solved. Problem is I ran that barely touching me. I the the sole on this shoe is so thick. It was just barely touching. I’m like I got a little something in there. I was good thing your soul’s that thick. You’d really be feeling then it would hurt a little bit. Were you able to run down the No, I’m just doing it. Oh. Oh, thank you. I I know everybody around here is Oh, yeah. Especially when I saw it yesterday and I saw your guys’ how nice your guys’ houses look and then this one I’m like that’s a piece of junk next to your guys’s house. Yeah. So they they just put a new roof on. I see the brand new roof. Well, I feel the brand new roof. The evidence is left behind. I see the brand new roof and be a diamond in a rough. It’ll look It’ll look pretty one day. I hope so. Got a nice roof. Got a nice roof. As long as the bones are good. And the front yard’s looking good. Oh my goodness. Cutting back those palmetto trees. That uh Yeah, I go a little above and beyond. Yeah, it’s very nice. This little sidewalk, I couldn’t even tell this little sidewalk is here. I you know, um for the last year almost when I mow my lot, I’ve been mowing this this little Well, this is smaller than the rest of the yard, so I figured some someone was knowing it. Yeah. But uh I pulled all the vines down one. And that’s the ugliest thing, too, isn’t it? I know it. Yeah, for sure. The yard is manageable if it’s a little bit tall. But the vines, it makes it it makes it look just makes it look abandoned. It invites stuff that you don’t want over here, you know, and Yeah, for sure. That’s why I do it. I try to make it look a little better for people. Well, I appreciate that. That’s kind of You want a bottle of water or anything? I’m good. I got all my stuff in my truck. Okay. Yes, sir. All right, good. If you need anything, just yell. Okay, thank you. Rick, I’m Al, by the way. Al, good to meet you. Yeah, you guys do piano over there? Well, I’m going to finish up this side. Okay, for sure. Al, right? Yep. Al, yeah, man. You, too. Thank you. Good thing I got these thick Kujo on, guys, cuz as you saw, I had a nail in the sole of my shoe. And these things are super thick, so I barely felt it. It didn’t even go through my foot or nothing. Just felt a little scratch. I thought it was just a leaf or something, but roofing [Music] [Music] nail. [Applause] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. 1. you are awesome al I have a favor to ask will you check out rake it til we make it he is a young boy with dreams of owning a landscaping business ty

  2. I love finding old sidwalks like that. A few years ago I had clients buy a home with a beautiful back yard. They were landscaping one day and hit something hard in the dirt, turns out there was a giant brick decorative patio under 30 years of dirt and grass. That was a pretty sweet find and they scored a free bbq space.

  3. Thank you for being a Blessing for people. You do great work. I just wish you would loose the facial hair. All l can think about is all the dirt and bugs tha🎉t must get into it. But it is ok if 🎉you want it. Thanks again

  4. You still creeping people out showing up looking like a serial killer. You should shave your beard and mustache off.

  5. Great job. I love watching you work your magic. It’s sad to see these beautiful houses sitting empty while there are folks like me who’d give their soul to have something half as good.

  6. I do hvac and go in peoples houses that work from home…they are quick to stop mid sentence and run back to the office. I definitely wouldn't take that interaction personal. They can actually get in trouble if they dont respond or check in.

  7. I still can't grasp the concept of you mowing someone's lawn that is Rich enough to buy a house and just leave it be instead of actually helping someone that isn't able. I understand you need content but I just don't understand helping someone that doesn't actually need help

  8. Al, you do such a wonderful, generous service! I love watching your videos.

I am wondering about your tree and bush trmimng training and philosophy. I sometimes see you taking out trees, hedges and landscaping bushes. I'm a tree hugger and I find myself feeling the need to advocate for those living things that do not have a voice. I see videos of birds tangled in nets and fishing lines and a person hears them squawking and saves them. I see videos of abandoned dogs and someone hears them wbimpering and rescues them. These give us all warm fuzzies, and righly so. But then I don't feel good when you're taking out those neglected yards and leaving what my head labels scorched earth. I know someone could say it's necessary so you can efficiently tackle more delapidated yards and a future homeowner could always plant just what they want, just where they want it. My brain compares that thought to the poor pups who are sick or injured. I hear the same person saying it's going to take money and time to make the dog better and maybe it'll never be fully healed and healthy. So, do they reason the best allocation of time and money is to put the dog down and the person could always get the exact kind of dog – breed, color, age, etc. – they want later?

Maybe you could find a person with landscapimg or tree trimming experience to join you, to take care of the bushes and trees while you take care of the grass? 😊

Thank you for your kind consideration of my thoughts.

  9. Another really good job, Al. You always do such an amazing job on really bad yards. I can not understand the owner putting a new roof on this house and then to just let it go like he did. It does not make any sense to me. Thank you for helping this neighbourhood. Ronnie in Saskatchewan

  10. Any chance of ever switching to battery trimmer Al? I did a few years ago for my small little lawn care business, I love how quiet they are and they certainly have a lot of power. Any new tools you might like to add to your arsenal? Keep up the great work!

  11. Al,you and the rest of the mowing teams across the web do miracles to clean up blighted properties that investors let get run down. Kudos to you for doing such a great job on this project and the others that you have worked on. Keep it going.

  12. Poor neighbors had to look at that and then have grass and dust come onto their lawns. Wonder what happened to the old owners. I'm glad for neighbors you were around.

  13. Al you know what would really finish your amazing work of and make it well rounded and complete ……. if you also had a jet wash power cleaner to do the paths and driveways?
