I planted a rosa palustris (swamp rose) in my front yard to help continue a hedge I’m building. The place I planted doesn’t get quite as wet as I would like, but figured I would go for it. It is one that gets inspected daily and was sooo excited to see this deep pink show through! I am hoping this means I chose a good spot 😍. The flowers can have some color variation and I was hoping for a deeper pink.

What gets your daily inspection right now?

Oh yes, my husband told me yesterday to hurry up and do my evening garden stuff because we needed to leave and I told him right now my “garden stuff” is just looking at my plants every day 😂 I’m watching the coneflowers, coreopsis, and butterfly weed daily for the flowers to finally burst open

Yes, my neighbors probably think I’m so odd because I’m just standing in my front yard staring at things multiple times throughout the day.

Me!! I love taking a stroll through the yard! I love looking for new insects too.

I was away for a week earlier this month and was sooooo excited to get back to see what had sprouted!

Oh heck yeah! Watching our beloved plants grow, blossom and flourish, and contribute their resources to our ecosystem, is the reward for all our hard work! 💪

I have several “june-blooming” plants I’m excited for and so here I am, on June 2nd, anxiously awaiting…

I actually have some binoculars that allow close up macro viewing and I’m out there with those every morning 😂

I look out my window constantly to check growth 😆

Also checking my roses daily! Carolina rose, planted them last spring and they did alright bloom-wise, and are spreading nicely. I’d like to get a swamp rose planted this fall, thanks for sharing!

Yes! I knew I found my people when others did the same thing.

Every morning I do my “plantwalk” to check on all my plants

I’m constantly checking my large aloe vera (maybe 15 years old now), and my pretty tall Cereus repandus (tall column of apple cactus). This mostly to check on growth and turgor, and soil humidity. Very hot and steamy area, and I have to move both of them under shelter if it is going to rain.

But I also am looking for which of my cannas is sending up a flag leaf indicating new blooms.

Yeah, my family members love it when I drag them over to show them a bud that is definitely going to open any day now

My partner and I do multiple garden walk through each day and can’t get enough!! We both work from home so are very lucky in that regard. It’s the most exciting thing to watch them grow 🙂

My passionflower vines are finally putting out serious growth. I’ve been trying to get them to take for a few years now. I’m out there every day looking at the weird little alien buds, impatiently waiting for them to turn into weird little alien flowers. I’m so excited.

YES and my wife tries her best to pretend to be interested while I point out a leaf for the 85th time ♥️

Yes! It’s my first time dying and I’ve always thought I had a black thumb so every time I see growth I get so excited. Even if it’s just a few tiny seedlings.
