I’m unsure about the SPECIFIC species, but this is sure exciting!!! I’ll perhaps try to harvest some seeds so the little guy can spread!

Lovely! Wait until the seed pods are almost black. My original plant got crowded out and did not come back this year – I had planned to move it and two offspring to a better location. Moved the offspring anyway and they will bloom soon. Love them! I have S. Angustifolium, but I like S. campestre very much as well.

I found this plant for the first time last week in NJ as well!

The color is beautiful, wow. What a cool find!

My plant died, I think. No sign of it yet this year. I can’t find another, either.

Just found two patches of that in my lawn this week, in an area I recently fenced off from the deer. I was excited too!

  6. You can use Michigan floras online key to try and get to species but it’s very challenging. Great find!

  7. Very cool iris relative! It’s one that I tend to find in the oddest of locations sometimes. Really lovely in a dense planting of low growing forbs.

We have a few patches in our beds that just came up. We love them. Just beautiful.

My yard has them wild. Absolutely love them.
