Southern Blue flag irises (Iris virginica) & copper irises (Iris fulva) are high on my list of most beautiful flowers! They're both native to Missouri, so they're designed to support & thrive in our environment.
I took these pictures in my garden last week. Suburban St Louis, Missouri, USA

Stunning! I have rare white iris versicolor i rescued from a roadside that was mowed every year a while back. They spread like crazy! I have to divide every year!
They’re also the only irises that have managed to survive there at all. Every other species I’ve planted has died :/
Absolutely love those copper irises, they’re a little south of us, but I’m definitely tempted to make an exception. Just got some of the blue irises for a little rain/waterfall garden I’m working on, and I’m so happy with them.
