Great video sir! I always learn something and I'm always entertained. However, I am a bit disappointed as I never pegged you for a sap wood hater but thanks for posting anyway.
The world needs more Over the Top references!
Can we buy just the Modern Adirondack Chair plan?
Savng 7000 dollars was as easy as investing 250000 in tools
Ahhhh. It was good to see Chuck again. Been a while since that fella's been around!
I'm not surprised that Brad Paisley has a youtube channel. I'm just surprised it's about building stuff.
Your beard makes your voice deeper😂 didn’t know it was you, need your beard you look 15🤪
Are you done actually makings things for videos or is it all compilations now?
Regarding the "Not-An-Adirondack" chair, maybe add a soft curve to the back for lumbar support?
i saw something that said the first Adirondack chairs were actually built to sit in a hillside that sloped downhill, so they didn't really make you sit leaning so far back.
For future reference.. you also had a lot of air bubbles in your concrete bcuz it was way too dry when you poured it. Add more water next time. It won’t hurt it. It’s just a coffee table not structural. The “wetness” of the concrete is referred to as the “slump.” You had yours at about a 3. Maybe a 4 tops. You wana pour something like that at around a 5 or 6 slump. Especially since you used the rebar also which isn’t really necessary for a slab that size. When they do foundations for houses.. they even pour like a 6-8 slump sometimes.
28:32 you are cutting plugs, not dowels. They don't need to be strong, just aestethically pleasing, so yo might as well cut them with matching grain (be patient and advance the cutter slowly in order to get a cleaner result). I haven't tried cutting cedar plugs, but it should work if you're patient.
Where did you buy the cushions to use for the outdoor seating?
This is some great stuff! I love making things, and it's so rewarding to save money by doing so. I have one question. Why do you apply two coats of spar varnish diluted with mineral spirits after an initial coat of pure spar varnish? Seems to me you'd want to apply the diluted mixture first to allow it to penetrate the wood. Then two coats of 100% spar varnish for weather protection. What am I missing here?
Those posts look far from plum
Brad without a hat? No thanks!
Maybe a dumb question, but what did you do with your concrete failure? Mistakes are inevitable and it’s my inexperience with cleanup and disposal that keeps me from trying a lot of these DIYs
I like the styles of what you built, but coming from a wet area of the country I wouldn't have all of this flat wood laying flush on top of the deck. In my area, we need to let the air flow undeneath or all the furnture AND the deck would just rot. Sigh!
Love watching your videos Brad they are very informative and entertaining.😀
I've been searching for this video for almost a year. Thank you x10000
What a throwback! I bought the plans and built those modern outdoor chairs a few years ago and they have been fantastic.
So inspiring.
If you’re ever in witness protection, just shave and take off your hat.
These are great designs! I would like to try the couch.
I must counter your Adirondack opinion, though. The point of the Adirondacks is to relax. Once you sit, you don't have to get up! 🙂
