Last year I was super excited to see a Common Milkweed volunteer pop up in my yard. It even planted itself in the garden bed! I have Tuberosa that I purchased but never bought any Common so that singular stalk was awesome to see.

This year, we have a lot of Common Milkweed. I know it’s known for being aggressive and this isn’t unexpected but it still makes me so happy. Nature is out there doing what it’s supposed to do. I love to see my yard rewild itself 🙂

What is a simple thing that your plants have done that brings you pride and joy?

I’ve said it before and I will say it again – that native Columbine is making me look like a genius of repeating pattern from the 2 plugs 😂

  2. It grows well in oldfield or ruderal areas. It can’t even grow in my prairie planting because of competition in the rhizosphere.
