It’s currently in kind of sand.

That’s a ZZ plant

They’re pretty much impossible to kill. I just sawed through mine and quartered them as they keep outgrowing their pots. Have to do it every couple of years.
I just have them in regular compost from Lidl.
Or maybe it’s not? The broken off stem looks very familiar but the stalks are different. They do come in different varieties I think.
Is it possible there are two plants in the pot?
