[Music] Yeah. Yeah. [Music] Hey guys, welcome back to my channel. It’s your girl Kayla here. Thank you all so much for clicking on today’s video. Y’all, as you can see, we are out here in the garden in the lovely backyard. And I’m going to be walking you guys through all of the things because there are so many things that we were able to tackle in the front yard and mostly back here in the backyard to get ready for springtime because spring is officially here. So, all of my clips are random all over the place. I’m going to bring you guys in a little closer because it’s kind of noisy out here. I didn’t think it would still be noisy at this time of day, but I have my laptop here and I’m just going to walk you guys through all of the footage. So, first things first, we got a lot of trees cut. We got one tree cut in the front yard and two trees cut in the backyard. So, the main tree that we got cut in the front yard, it was I love this tree so much. But y’all, it was leaning really bad and it was rotten right in the center. So, it needed to go because we are planning to get our driveway done. So, that was one of the first projects that we completed leading into springtime. So, I’m going to go ahead and show you that tree now and then roll a few clips that I have of it being cut. [Music] alone. There’s no other way that can stop my heart. [Music] I do [Music] love [Music] its feels like I’m about to die. [Music] So, we also got trees in the backyard cut as well, you guys. Um, same reasoning for the trees that we got cut in the backyard. They’re just leaning. One tree was going in my neighbor’s yard, other tree going in my other neighbor’s yard. And they had been dropping limbs as well. So, I’m going to roll those clips for you guys now. [Music] And you guys can see right here, this is one of the places where they took the trees away. And so it’s a really big dip right there now. So what we are going to do is we’re going to have to fill this in. Like this is so dangerous. I don’t know if y’all can tell, but like it goes way down. So we have to fix all of this now. [Music] Yeah. Let me show you what I’m going to do. Alone. Alone. Alone. Alone. Alone. My love. Why [Music] do love hurts? [Music] So once those trees were cut, we were left with huge piles of mulch, especially in the front yard. So, we had to use our strength to shovel up as much mulch as we possibly could to get it out of that spot because we knew eventually we wanted to plant a tree there. So, that was another big project that we decided to go ahead and take on. And I’m going to go ahead and roll those clips now. [Music] to you [Music] that goodbye love already and I lose myself [Music] again to w W. Yeah. [Music] Let me go. Let me [Music] precious. There’s no doubt you’re missing out. Baby, we got issues. [Music] Yeah. So baby [Music] [Music] issues. So the next thing that I want to talk to you guys about is our sideyard. This is the piece of property that we have in between our carport and our neighbors property. This particular piece of land never really had anything on it and I knew that I wanted to add a bit more privacy and also a bit more beauty. I just feel like there wasn’t a lot going on there. We can add some more interest. Y’all know I love roses. So, got roses to go there. And then we repurposed a few trees that we planted over by the shed over there. So, the bushes that we put there from the shed, they love sun, y’all. And they grow really big and really tall. So, I think those are going to be really nice in the years to come. [Music] So baby is honey. I think we lost it [Music] to [Music] watching [Music] you. All right, you guys. So, this is what it looks like. The trees are in. It looks so cute. So, now what I’m about to do, I got these buttered yellow roses from Lowe’s. They’re called the sunny knockout rose, and we have these all throughout the backyard. These grow so big and so fast. So, they have flowers from spring to frost, which is perfect. And I think they’re going to be so pretty. So, they start off yellow and then they eventually turn to white. So, because there’s just five holes right here in the front, I’m gonna do um a big red rose bush, yellow, red, yellow, and then red in that last one. I just love the way this is turning out. And I think what we’re going to do right here is um put grass, some grass seed down. I think that’ll be best instead of making this like an actual bed. But yeah, this is what it looks like, you guys. Don’t listen to the [Music] holers. Don’t fall into the hands. Don’t follow any other path but your own. No right. You really should listen to yourself. The only [Music] thing is that you’re doing well. You’re doing well. Just follow the light. You’re almost there. Just open your eyes. It’s right there. Just follow the light. You’re almost there. Just open your eyes. It’s right there. Don’t be afraid. Be strong. You’re not alone. [Music] Okay, y’all. So, we’re trying to find something to go in the spot where we cut down the big tree. We currently have a crepe myrtle in our cart that we thought was the one. We thought we were going to get it. This year, I’ve fallen in love with dogwood trees and they have one here. It is so pretty and as soon as I saw it, I got so excited. It’s already pretty big and like mature. We have like a smaller size that’s 58, which is the same price as the crepe myrtle that we have in the car right now. So, we’re just trying to decide one year guarantee. So, we’re also getting some more rose bushes. So, I showed y’all me planting the butter yellow ones that are gorgeous. So, to accompany those, we’re getting this really pretty color. It’s called orange glow. To me, looks like a coraly color. So, we already have two of them in the cart. And then we’re going to get one more. Y’all, we decided to go with the dog wood. This one doesn’t have any buds on it, but this is what we have decided to go with for right now, y’all. You’re almost right there. Just follow the light. You’re almost there. Just open your eyes. It’s right [Music] there. It’s right there. [Music] All righty. Here we go. [Music] And along with planting all of those bushes and beautiful roses, we wanted to go ahead and add some grass because we felt like there needed to be some there instead of just a whole bunch of mulch or pine straw. We wanted to add grass back in. So, we basically added like this seed grass roll called Grow Tracks. And I was really skeptical about it, but y’all, it works. And I’ll be sure to give you guys an update as you see the footage. But I was very pleased with the results, and it looks really [Music] great. Only to [Music] the only meth. [Music] We can’t pretend that we have changed. But who are we kidding? [Music] We can’t pretend that we feel nothing and keep it [Music] hidden cuz I’ve been thinking about crossing the line and just giving up feeling the way I doh cuz I’ve been thinking about you all the time. I want to make it with you. This going to be only you. Only you move me to [Music] the only Only [Music] you Only you move me to [Music] the only [Music] Guys, I want to give you a little grass update. It’s officially been a week since we planted. We planted last Saturday, and this is like all the growth that we’ve gotten so far. Um, not much, but still something. So, we’re very grateful for that. And I hope that more um things will continue to spark, like more grass will continue to grow from here. Um, and like fill in cuz there are bare spots like these where it’s no grass. But yeah, this is what it looks like you guys. It’s grass everywhere. So, going to continue to water it. All right, guys. I’m just out here giving the grass its morning water. Try to water it two times a day, but this is like a two to three week growth update from using the grow tracks over here. Um, and I’ll give you an up close view. This is what it’s looking like now. I’ll be honest, y’all. It kind of looked the same to me, but it’s definitely fuller. I’ll give it that. I’m just hoping that these little strands that they begin to um get a little bit thicker. And I’m also not even really sure what kind of grass this is. But this is what it’s looking like. The bushes are doing really good. And let me go ahead and also show you the tree now. Here’s a view from this angle. This is a view from this angle. All right. So, moving on to the backyard. One of my favorite spaces. We are really trying to get this area together. And every single year, y’all, you already know we got to pull weeds. So, my nephew was helping me with that. And I also went around pruning our hydrangeanger bushes and a few of our rose bushes as well. [Music] I’m sure not once or twice, but every time you thought that we did all right, but I thought it through and I’m missing you. And I promise I’m promise I’m better. Wouldn’t hold it against you. If you say that you don’t want to get close to me, close to what we used to be, but I just feel like dancing. Are you feeling it, too? Oh, baby. Won’t you love me? Won’t you love me? Won’t you love me? Love me like you feel it how it feels, babe. Won’t you love me? Oh, but kind of new way. Oh, but kind of new. Tell me you’re feeling it too. And love me like yesterday. Oh, but kind of new. Tell me love. Wouldn’t hold it against you if you don’t. Next thing, you guys, is the garden beds. I’m really excited about these. Y’all know that we worked on them last year, but we never got the chance. We ran out of time. We ran out of time to actually begin to grow something in there. So, this year’s the year that we are actually going to grow vegetables and flowers and fruits. And I just cannot wait. I’m going to do a whole separate video dedicated to gardening and garden plants and the seeds and all of the vegetables that I have bought. But I wanted to show you guys in this video the construction and like the prep work that we did to get our garden beds ready for planting. So I am going to go ahead and roll those clips now. [Music] yesterday. Oh, but kind of new. [Music] I see you watching me when we’re with our friends. It’s definitely something in the air. So, let’s take it from there cuz I know you want it. Afraid to let it show. And I know you need it. Why don’t we let it grow? I think it’s time we stop tpping on our toes. What’s holding you back now, sugar? Cuz I don’t know. You know you want it. Afraid to let it show. And I know you need it. Why don’t we let it grow? Why don’t we let it Why don’t we let it grow grow? It grows stronger for every day. We just can’t keep it away. No. Grow grow. It grows stronger for [Music] every make someone takes a place. I know how you feel, but scared to say to my face that you know you want it. Afraid to let it show. And I know you need it. Why don’t we let it grow? Why don’t we let it Why don’t we let it grow? Grow grow. It grows stronger for every day. We just can’t give it away. Grow, grow, grow, grow, grow. It grows stronger for every day. We just can’t give it [Music] away. I see you watching me when we’re with our friends. Definitely something in the air. So, let’s take it from there. So let’s take it from there. Why don’t we let it [Music] grow? And I know you need it. Why don’t we let it grow? Let it s. [Music] Why don’t we let itrow? Patio is right here. Lots of leaves and things in this area. All the leaves we want to use as like filler or compost for our garden beds. What I did earlier this year or last year, I put cardboard into each one of them. Now, you can see some little weeds coming up on the sides. I need to actually make sure the cardboard is like over enough to cut all of those out. But yeah, all three of our garden beds are pretty much ready for like all the filler and all the dirt to go inside of [Music] them. Life is a winding road. No telling where it goes. Driving through days and nights. Won’t stop for traffic lights. And I I really want to know really want to know if I ever figure out where the road [Music] goes. Even if I’m falling down, I will keep on searching for my highs. You can say I lost my mind. I will keep on holding my head high. Even if the sky is falling [Music] down, jumping from cliffs so high, trusting our wings to fly. Sometimes we’re crashing down. All right, y’all. The soil is all the way filled up, y’all. These are the three bags. We had just enough. If you can believe it, we had just enough soil to fill it all up because like I told y’all, I wanted it a little bit above the line, but the way he did it was perfect because it’s about the equal amount in each one. So, yeah. So, now we got to stain these. Marcus did something a while ago. I think he like put something on it to protect the wood, but I think I’m gonna stain them so they look a little bit better. And um and then we’re going to be able to get to planting. I’m so so so excited. These look so cute. All right, guys. So, we are about to work on taking all these boxes out of here and laying them down where I’m going to be planting my crops at. So, this is going to serve all the cardboard is going to serve as like a weed barrier. And we’re basically doing a no dig garden right there in the center. So, we got all of these from the recycling center. I hope it’s enough to cover the area, but we’re just going to play Tetris and like place them down. I’m going to go grab a box cutter and Marcus is going to start placing them on a tarp and then we’re just going to drag everything over there and get [Music] started when I wake You’re not there. You’re telling me you know what you mean. But when I turn the lights off, it’s all so clear. I can’t get away. I can’t get away. Bringing on the [Music] So, as y’all can see, we have all of our cardboard down, and we’re just wetting it, getting it pretty soft, so that way it’ll break down easier once we put all the um mulch and soil on top. And of course, we’re going to be watering it when we water the plant. So, it’s just going to continue to get more water and break down more and more and more and more over time. Um, and by the time the roots really start to establish, the cardboard should be broken down all the way. So, we’re just trying to give it a head start right now by wetting it as much as possible. But yeah, it looks so good. I’m excited. So, I think now we’re about to do is run to Home Depot, grab mulch, and grab soil. [Music] seem to move you like you did. I’m so out of love. Like I’m so out of place. I can’t get away. I can run away. I can’t get away. [Music] All right, you guys. So, it is the next day and I just went ahead and wet up the cardboard again cuz it started to harden a bit more and I want to make sure it’s pretty wet before we put all our materials on there. So, also y’all, I got to stain the boxes and I thought I would be able to do that in this video. I don’t think that I will be able to unfortunately, but I will give y’all an overview of everything at the end. Um, and let me show you guys the soil and mulch that we got. We almost got red mulch, but I went ahead and went with this one because we had a few trees cut. So, we want to be able to use [Music] um the stuff that came from the trees in addition to this. And I feel like this will just blend in better with the mulch that we got from cutting the trees. So, but we did get six bags of this. And then we got 10 bags of garden soil. We did the math and this is what we came [Music] to. You’re breaking. You’re breaking. You’re bringing on the heartache. You’re breaking. You’re breaking. Bringing on the [Music] heart. I can’t get away. I can’t get away. I can’t get away. Can’t run away. I can’t get away. I can’t get away. Can’t run away. I can’t get away. I can’t get away. Can’t run away. I can’t get away. You’re bringing all the holiday. You’re bringing You’re bringing You’re bringing on the holiday. You’re bringing You’re bringing You’re bringing on the holiday. You’re bringing You’re bringing You’re bringing on the holiday. You’re bringing You’re bringing You’re bringing on the holiday. [Music] Let me tell you this. Let me tell you right now. Your explicit kiss still burning. Didn’t know I miss this passion in life. Now I’m addicted. Let me tell you what is up with your smile. It’s impossible. Irresistible when I look through your eyes. Not even sky’s the limit. I used to be satisfied over the surface. Now I just can’t get enough. You make me feel good like no other. I just want everyone to see what I discover. And when I’m with you, I go higher. You lift me up. Now I can see so [Music] much. You’re [Music] my rising. I’m a butterfly beun. Taking me a while to get it. Had to live and [Music] cry. Also want to mention real quick that some of the work that you guys don’t see is because we actually hired some help this year to get some of our work done. So like moving all of the soil into the actual garden beds and digging some holes out there. That work was done for us by our gardener. So that was really nice because digging holes, we know cuz we dug all these holes out here. It’s really some backbreaking work. And this year, we really decided like, okay, let’s be smart about where we put our energy and figure out like what we want to delegate to someone else to do. I feel like that really helped. This would have took a lot more time had we done it ourselves. Okay, so at this point, you guys should have seen us at Lowe’s shopping for a tree. Y’all, I thought I was gonna get a crate myrtle to go where the big old tree was, but instead we got a pink dog one, and it’s gonna bloom every spring. It’s gorgeous, y’all. Y’all saw my excitement for I think I was even wearing this dress. I don’t know. But y’all saw my excitement in the video. Like, I cannot wait to see that tree in full bloom. Now that I’ve started buying trees, I want a little kick, though. I also want a cherry blossom tree. I forget the correct name, but I’ll pop it up. And I also want a few more crepe myrtles. Marcus is like, “No, we don’t need any more trees.” I’m just like, I love the trees. Especially the trees that flower. Like, we have a lot of trees on our property right now, but we don’t have Well, outside of the pink dog, which we just got, we don’t have any that flower. [Music] All right. So, you guys will remember this spot right here. Um, Marcus right now is lifting out the old roofs. Oh, remember this tree had like termites. It had a whole bunch of stuff in it. So, we’re trying to get this out so that we can plant a new tree right here. Wow. [Music] Wow, that’s [Music] crazy. You guys remember the tree? It has grown so much, y’all, since we last showed it to y’all. Y’all remember this is the dog whitet. We’ve just had it right here in the shade. This is what it looks like. So, we’re trying to hurry up and get it out of this pot. [Music] drowning. [Music] So, tree update. We did go ahead and put mulch around the tree and I’m going to give it some water. I think it’s doing okay, but some of the leaves at the top, I don’t know if you guys can see, but they are getting a little scorched. So, don’t know what that’s about, but I’m just going to continue to keep it watered, keep it hydrated. This might have been a bad spot to put this tree. I don’t We don’t really know yet. We have a one-year guarantee, though. And I keep I’m keeping the tags on it. So, if I need to take it back, I can. But, this is what she’s looking like. I think she’s going to be so cute if she actually begins to grow more. right here. In another video, you guys are going to see the front. We’re just going to stay in the front yard. We’re going to be working on the driveway, the walkway, the window boxes. I’m painting the door again. So, that’ll be in another video. So, we got the tree all planted. It’s looking cute. And one of the last things that we wanted to do in the front yard, I was trying to get a head start on it, but y’all, when we work on the front yard again in a dedicated video, we’re going to have to redo this. So, basically, we were trying to plant grass and again the grass did not work. Y’all know every year we try to plant grass in these particular spots in our yard and for whatever reason it just the grass has never grown. So, I’m thinking at this point, you know, we could try to put that grow track stuff there. I didn’t want to because it’s a little bit pricier. Buying seeds is more inexpensive, but we might have to go ahead and put that grow tracks there. Or we can just buy a few pieces of sod and kind of like play Tetris and patch it in because um I really want that area and I’ll talk more about this in the front yard video. I really want that area to be like so cozy adding rocking chairs and swings. So I I mean you can’t look out and see Georgia clay like you want to look out and see beautiful grass. But anyways, I’m going to show you guys my efforts in this video and I’ll update you on our progress. There’s no progress yet in next week’s video. Okay guys, so we are out in the front yard right now and this is a spot that I’ve complained about and it’s been a problem for quite a few years. Did you guys see like all the places where the grass does not grow? Because we had to get um this thing and it dug up the whole ground and all that all the way out to the street. So, I’m trying a new method now because there was a spot even further down in the yard like this and my dad like right before the wedding, he had put some soil down and then put the seed. And you know, that’s what we did over there in our side garden. We put some soil down and then seed and then it grew. So, I’m thinking maybe it just the seeds don’t like to grow on top of this this red clay. Maybe. I don’t know. So, I’m going to try to give it a fighting chance. And I think I’m going to use this mixture sun and shade. I also bought this one bear spot, but I think I’m going to use this in the uh backyard where we have some a lot of bare spots because of the trees. Thing I forgot to show you guys right here. I bought a seeded wildflower blanket, you guys. This is the same type of stuff that we used to grow the grass over there. And I was like, why didn’t they have this when we was doing the weddings when we was trying to do a whole bunch of wild flowers, but none of the wild flowers we grew. And this thing right there, they did not grow. So, I’mma try this. I’m going to try this out. I got to figure out where I’m going to put it first. I thought about putting it around the tree that we planted last night, that dogwood tree, but we decided we’re just going to go ahead and do grass right there. So, anyway, let’s open up our [Music] soil. Waking up in my bed. You’re still in my head. I’m not even hung over. I want to call your phone, tell you what you did wrong, then ask it to come over. Not very good with decisions. Know what’s right, but I don’t listen. I don’t complain and dismiss it. And I keep on [Music] guys. In contrast, this is what the area looks like now. All the dirt is down. And so, according to instructions, let’s just go ahead and spread this [Applause] [Music] out. This is what it looks like. I don’t think the birds are going to want to eat these. The ones we usually put out don’t have any like coloring or fertilizer to them. Lack of consequence. I found myself back again crying on your should. No, it’s not good for me. But I still want your body. So dumb, but it’s not over. Not very good with decisions. Know what’s right, but I don’t listen. I don’t I don’t And I complain and dismiss it. And I keep on reminiscing. I [Music] know. I know. Baby, you’re bad. Wait a second, y’all. Maybe I spoke too soon about there not being any growth over here. I’m starting to see germination, you guys. Little seedlings are here. Let me water it real quick and then I’mma give y’all an update. Oh my goodness. I’m actually shook right now. Yeah, you guys, I spoke too soon. If you get really close, you can kind of see where little pieces of grass are coming up. Do you guys see like right here, right here, all right here? I put all the seeds here and then over here, little seedlings are coming. Oh my goodness. Okay, y’all. I’mma recommend this product now. The one I got from Walmart. It actually works. It’s more sparse over here, but I do see a few. And then I still see clay, but they’re trying to come up. They’re trying to come up. Here’s another area where there’s a lot of seedlings coming and filling in gaps. And then right over here as well, we have some I’m probably going to have to go back and fill in areas later on, but I’m going to just let this do what it do for now. Right here in this spot, lots of grass seeds coming up. So, I’m just going to continue to water it, y’all. It’s only been a week and a half since I put these down. And even down here, we have growth. So, that is the grass update. It’s still looking a little crazy, but it’s going to take time. [Applause] [Music] This is our back gate. When you first come into the gate, you have all these sticks here. All of these sticks do have a home. They came from some branches that we took down in the front or some trees that we took down in the front. But all of these branches right here behind me are going to go in our garden bed as filler. Okay. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Not very good with decisions. Know what’s right, but I don’t listen. I need you, but I wake up and I miss you. Baby, you’re bad. Baby, you’re bad. Baby, you’re bad. Baby, you’re bad for business. Baby, you’re bad. Baby, you’re bad. Baby, you’re bad. Baby, you’re bad for business. Baby, you’re bad. Baby, you’re bad. You’re bad. Baby, you’re bad. You’re bad. Baby, you’re bad for business. Baby, you’re bad. Baby, you’re bad. Baby, you’re bad. All right, y’all. So, I believe that that brings us to the end of today’s video. I hope you guys really enjoy just chatting with me and seeing all the updates that we have been able to do around the house to get ready for spring. If you have any suggestions, all my gardener friends, chime on in down below because um we I’m filming this video the day before it goes live. So, today is April 19th. Um, and we don’t plan to plant until April 21st, which is a Monday. So, comment everything right now so I can see it before we get ready to plant. And yeah, thank you guys so much for watching and I will catch you guys in the next one. We’re going to be outside in the next video. Wait, I think we’re going to be for the next two videos. We’re going to be outside because my next video is going to be us um doing the front yard makeover and then my next video after that will be us planting the seeds in the garden. So, I’m so excited. All right, I’ll see you guys next time. Bye. [Music]

Happy Sunday! HE IS RISEN ๐ค thanks for tuning in. Please be sure to like, comment,& subscribe! Love yall!
You all need a Gorilla cart.
You may have to top soil that area or your yard.
It's gonna be a beautiful yard it all gets grown.
Dogwods like to be under-planted. Meaning, they want to be shaded by a larger tree.
Researching the light, soil, watering, and other caring requirements is so important for Avery single plant, including grass. It will save the heartache of ideal landscaping and allow you to work with the space.
You might want to try the toilet paper method for those patches of grass. I just saw a tutorial the other day. Itโs super easy and it had great results.
Be mindful where you plant the Yoshino cherry tree. I have one, it's beautiful, but it's near my sidewalk and the roots have lifted the cemented walk way. The flowers flow everywhere, on my porch, patio furniture, everywhere! Then the cherries fall and it stains the side walk, and lastly, it sheds its branches! This is a messy tree, but what a beautiful display of flowers in the spring! The bees and birds love it!
If y'all would have used some of the tree stumps at the base of the garden beds it would have saved you from buying soil the worms will break all that down to feed soil and future planting remember reuse recycle remend
I love your huge backyard. It looks like a beautiful forest โคโค. And of course the house is tooโคโค. My suggestion about the grass situation is to use pallets of grass and water it. Much success with the yard.
Wow first time Iโve seen a no dig garden like this! Wonderful idea!

Oh my goodness the roses behind you look amazing
So Kayla and Marcus, I know it's been two weeks since you put this video out but I'm hoping you haven't stained those planter boxes yet because the stain will eventually leach into your plants… which obviously IS NOT A GOOD THING!!
I highly recommend you watch another YouTube channel called GARDEN ANSWER.and go through her playlist about that subject!
They are incredibly knowledgeable and I've been watching them for over 9 years. ๐๐ช๐ช๐ช

Omg your garden is so lovely everything is growing so well. Just a thought the mints will take over your herb garden so keep an eye on that. Also the bees need to get to the cucumbers and tomatoes your Star Jasmine is going to be so beautiful!!
Great job with those raised beds Marcus ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ
