GARDENERS across the west of Scotland are invited to showcase their skills in the annual Cardwell Gardenfest competition.
The popular contest, launched by Gourock’s Cardwell Garden Centre, is open to all its customers with a passion for plants.
Gardeners can enter by submitting three photographs of their garden per category, with the freedom to compete in multiple categories.
The deadline for entries is Sunday, August 31.
Photographs can be submitted by email to cardwellgardenfest@gmail.com, by handing in to the garden centre or by mailing to Gardenfest Competition, Cardwell Garden Centre, Lunderston Bay, By Gourock, PA19 1BB.

“This is a great opportunity for gardeners to get some recognition for their hard work and the photographs sent in will be testament to just how well people’s gardens grow.
“We can’t wait to see the photographs of everyone’s garden.”
George Irvine, horticultural expert and judge, added: “We encourage everyone to consider applying to Gardenfest as there is a category for everyone.
“I would also recommend people to nominate friends or neighbours, as not everyone thinks of their garden as being ‘good enough’.”
All entries will be featured in a slideshow during the prize-giving ceremony in September, where the winners will receive £50 worth of Cardwell Garden Centre vouchers, a trophy, and a certificate.
